Sherry Hawkins was not the first realtor we contacted to buy a condo in Portland. She was the second, but the right one for us. When Sherry called and talked to us, right away we felt comfortable with her. She was very friendly and communicative. We live in Los Angeles, and for some time we were contemplating to move out, and our first choice was Portland. When we called her from LA, we told her that we have never been to Portland but we would like to see some properties. The whole thing how we were going to do it was still vague and a bit worrisome. However, Sherry’s sunny personality and consideration for our concerns helped ease all our worries. She offered to pick us up at our hotel and drive us around which was very considerate since we never set foot in Portland. Prior to arriving to Portland, we had our heart set on one property, and we were pretty confident that that property was the one, our dream place. Sherry showed us this property first, and we were a bit disappointed. But she did her homework and arranged another five properties to show on the same day. After seeing the second one, we liked it and did not want to see any other condos. However, Sherry gently insisted that we see the other ones as well, and we now are glad that she did. We drove around and saw other condos in different areas which helped us a lot to get a general picture of the local condo market. This helped us tremendously and confirmed our decision. All in all, it was a real pleasure to work with her. She puts aside her personal schedule and takes care of you first. Her communication skills are superb, and she never leaves you wondering what’s next. She gave us updates every day. She was with us every step of the way of the buying process which can be a very intimidating experience especially for first-time buyers like us. After we left Portland, she kept us updated with the escrow progress by texting, emailing, or calling us. Sherry makes her clients her priority whether it is day or night. After this whole experience of buying our townhome, we felt that we not only gained a new place, but also we now have a reliable friend in Portland who always makes you feel welcome and is ready to help you with anything.
